June 25, 2011

At the conference Google I / O to be held on May 10 in San Francisco, the new operating system OS Chrome could benefit from an effective launch. A 12.1-inch ultraportable running this system, called Samsung Alex, comes from elsewhere on the web filter.

Samsung Alex Google Chrome OS

The 12.1-inch Samsung in Google Chrome OS, whose code name is “Alex”, filtered following the publication of documents from Google.

We learn that Alex would have a Samsung 12.1-inch panel with a resolution of 1280 × 800 and the display format thus adopts a 16/10 while the 16:9 largely dominates the market for several quarters, what delight those ranting against the 768px height of 16:9 that require a little scroll in office and surfing the Net.

It would also be equipped with a Dual Core processor Atom N550 clocked at 1.5 GHz associated with 2 GB DDR3 RAM. The storage would be entrusted to a SanDisk SSD while the P4 connector side, there are modules Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, 3G, a card reader and USB ports and a VGA output. Would also present a Synaptics touchpad and a webcam Namuga.

We should know more about this 12.1-inch Samsung Alex at the Google I / O, some arguing that its release could come later this summer.

Korean would in any case not the only position themselves in the machinery sector Chrome OS. Indeed, it is also the case of Acer , from Asus or Sony .

As a reminder, Chrome OS is an operating system based on Linux and browser built around Google Chrome. The applications are stored online in order to guarantee the user the use of the latest versions of its software and preferred this way to increase security. The downside, this type of system is very dependent on internet connection, essential to really benefit from its functionality.
